NEW this year! The 2026 Texas Cardiovascular Innovations Fellows Course will now be held on Saturday, August 22nd in conjunction with the 2026 Texas Cardiovascular Innovations Conference (Texas-CIC) to be held Friday, August 21st – Saturday, August 22nd. This Conference is being developed in partnership with Methodist Heart and Antidote Education Company.
Led by our renowned faculty, the Fellows Course is designed to equip senior trainees across cardiology subspecialties with the practical knowledge and clinical insight needed for the next stage of their careers. Through a dynamic mix of focused lectures and rapid-fire case discussions, participants will refine decision-making skills in the cath lab, explore advanced pacing strategies, and deepen their understanding of hemodynamics through flow volume loop interpretation and cardiopulmonary exercise testing.
Through expert-led discussions on clinical topics, workforce trends, procedural training, and the legal and financial aspects of cardiology practice, attendees will gain valuable tools to navigate the complexities of today’s cardiovascular landscape. Sessions will also explore how to successfully integrate subspecialty skills into a variety of practice settings, while personal reflections from practicing physicians offer relatable guidance and perspective on career pathways.
In addition to technical and diagnostic expertise, the course addresses essential elements of professional development, including cardiology business fundamentals and strategies for building a distinctive clinical niche. Tailored for fellows pursuing interventional cardiology, heart failure, electrophysiology, structural heart, and surgical disciplines, this program emphasizes real-world application, multidisciplinary collaboration, and high-yield clinical “pearls” to support a confident transition into independent practice.
Target Audience
The Fellows Course is intended for current 2nd & 3rd year General Cardiology Fellows planning to enter into an Interventional Cardiology program, Cardiac Heart Failure Fellows, Cardiac Electrophysiology Fellows, Interventional Cardiology Fellows, Structural Heart Fellows, Cardiothoracic Surgery Fellows, and Vascular Surgery Fellows.
